People often see others moving on their spiritual path and wonder why they are moving so fast down the river of spirituality, while they seem to travel so slowly?

I tell them that from my own experience I can say that to travel the speedy rapids of the river is not always an easy way. It is often travelled because the person needs to learn so much because they need it to move on, yet as we know as you pass down the river at speed. You only get the briefest glimpse of the shore and then continue on in the uncertain waters, pushed from one event to another.

Whilst those that travel on slower currents of the spiritual river often gain the greater knowledge of the experiences that occur, for they can see all that happens, reflecting on what they see and hear, thus they may truly understand the issue or event and be able to move on fully. They may even see an event on the horizon and move out of its path.

Soulful Living

Soulful living is taking a moment out of your everyday life to reflect and celebrate the wonder that is your spiritual being. It is connecting to that spiritual soul that resides within us all. The part of us that is truly timeless, existing in honesty and love; without the imperfections or contradictions of the material world. The part of us that is always aware of the ever-present love of the infinite spirit from which all things flow. It is acknowledging that this spiritual connection spans to all people, all things, and that we are all connected to the infinite spirit. Each person individually trying in our own way to express that love and fill our lives with joy, happiness, acceptance and understanding.

Through meditation, reflection, stillness, healing philosophy and spiritual practice, we can expand these moments of connection into a presence that will flow throughout our everyday life, encouraging us to appreciate and develop the highest and best within ourselves and others. So we may honour our own spirit, our lives and that of all things within this world, whilst also inspiring us to create a combined future of love, peace, understanding and happiness.

It is my hope to develop and present various meditations, reflections, stillness exercises, philosophy and spiritual practices on this page - to inspire people interested, intending to take, or who have already taken the soulful living workshops, or anyone that is interested in the idea of soulful living. I’m beginning with a simple relaxation exercise to create a sense of peace and love:

Earth light connection meditation

The sacred space meditation is designed to create a safe and open space where you can begin to develop an understanding of the vibrations within. It also assists to relax the mind and body, whilst you begin to sense the interaction with the energies around you.

Begin by sitting comfortably in a chair with your eyes closed. Take a deep breath in, and then out again. Take a second, and then return to your normal breathing patterns. While you sit in peace bring your attention to your feet, feel the ground beneath you and the connection between you and the earth. Allow that connection to grow and sense your feet resting upon the earth. Feel the warmth of the earth, as if you are hugged and loved.

Now, as you breathe in imagine you are breathing a bright, glowing white light, let it into your lungs and slowly as you breathe in begin to feel your whole body, from the top of your head, down to the bottom of your feet. On a new in breath, feel that light spread out and as you breathe out focus on visualising breathing that light out through your entire body. Now continue the process of creating a bubble of light all around your body. When you feel the bubble of light surrounding you, relax and allow yourself to feel the love of this light within and around you. Sit, enjoy and relax, enjoying the sense of love.

After a few minutes bring your attention back to the here and now, feel your feet upon the ground and with each breath your focus returns to the present. Wiggle your fingers and toes, and when ready open your eyes, drink some water if required and relax for a moment to centre yourself, you may wish to record any event and sit a while before continuing with your day.
